Thursday, March 8th, 2012: For the first event of 2012, we would like to welcome back all of our regular attendees as well as all new-comers to start the year off right. The TDWI Silicon Valley Chapter will have its first event of 2012 at Tres (formally Tres Agaves). Our first event topic is about Mobile BI and how it has impacted a strong retailer like Nordstrom. We would like to welcome Gary Ames of Nordstrom to present on this topic and we would also like for you to join us for this interactive discussion and to socialize with your peers and colleagues to share your challenges, successes, changes and future plans. This is a free event and we hope you will invite your colleagues, customers, and partners. We look forward to seeing you there!
We invite all BI/DW professionals to attend the next TDWI Silicon Valley event on Thursday, March 8th at Tres (formally Tres Agaves) in San Francisco. He has been with Nordstrom for thirteen years and involved with Business Intelligence for the past eight. Discussion: Mobile BI at Nordstrom For the last several years Nordstrom has invested a great deal in technology to meet the existing and new demands of its consumers both in-store and online. The addition of mobile point of sale devices to their Full Line and Rack stores, a shopping application for the iPhone and Android as well as free shipping are but a few of the projects that add value to our customers but also new information for the company. The new information combined with existing creates more information that can be effectively consumed, even with people being more plugged in than ever before with their smart phones and tablets. Nordstrom is making an effort to focus its leaders on what is important and actionable with information relevant to their area of the business. |
